About The Position

The Primary Care Lead Advanced Practice Provider will support the functions performed within Primary Care in support of program objectives and goals. This position ensures that Advanced Practice Providers follow the processes and procedures to support Primary Care operations. The Lead APP assists with recruitment, orientation, continuous education, and annual evaluations of advanced practice providers working at all Primary Care sites. The Primary Care Lead Advanced Practice Provider organizes and oversees the APP chart review process and conducts periodic chart reviews as needed. The Lead will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to address concerns related to advanced practice provider performance, including the review of patient complaints that pertain to APPs. The Lead Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for fostering a positive group culture and will ensure high quality, efficient, and patient-friendly care for Primary Care at all AtlantiCare locations. This full-time position will consist of 60 hours clinical time and 20 hours administrative time per pay period.

Requirements

  • If advanced practice nurse: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school or as grandfathered by NJ Law
  • If physician assistant: Bachelors' degree in a physical science from an accredited institution
  • If physician assistant: Completion of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program
  • For APN: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license
  • For APN: Certified by the State Board of Nursing
  • For APN: Certification within area of specialty
  • For APN: Granted privileges from Atlantic City Medical Center medical staff
  • For APN: NRNNP,C or RNCNS,C registry unencumbered
  • BLSHCP required
  • For PA: Certified or eligible for certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey State Board of Education and Licensure
  • For PA: Appointment as an Allied Health Practitioner with the Medical Center in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in business operations/environment
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications
  • Excellent planning, execution skills and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Geriatric or Palliative Care Certification (for APN)
