About The Position

The Lead Analyst, Enterprise Strategy serves as a key partner in executing the organization’s strategic planning and performance management processes. This role is responsible for driving data-driven analysis, maintaining the integrity of the goal-setting framework, and leading specific strategic workstreams. The Lead Analyst acts as a primary liaison to functional teams, building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, and serves as a trusted advisor to internal clients. This is a skilled individual contributor role working under minimal guidance. Essential Job Functions: Strategic Analysis & Modeling: Conducts rigorous financial and operational analysis to support decision-making at executive leadership levels. Develops models to assess resource allocation, and business case viability for new initiatives. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Manages the collection and validation of enterprise metrics. Proactively engages with stakeholders to clarify data discrepancies and qualitative context before reports reach the Management Committee (MC). Presentation Development: Owns the end-to-end creation of materials for specific agenda items for Board and MC meetings. Transforms complex analysis into clear, narrative-driven slides. Ad-Hoc Strategic Projects: Leads "rapid response" analysis and specific project workstreams as directed by Enterprise Strategy leadership. This includes deep dives into emerging risks, market opportunity assessments, or operational efficiency reviews that fall outside the standard planning cycle. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Builds and maintains strong working relationships with functional data owners and program managers across the organization. Serves as the first point of contact for these stakeholders regarding OKR methodology, data submission, and timeline management. Market Intelligence: Monitors industry trends synthesizing this information into ad-hoc briefs or quarterly updates for the Strategy team. Process Improvement: Identifies friction points in the planning process and collaborates with stakeholders to design smoother workflows and templates for future cycles. Lead training sessions to enhance FINRA staff strategic planning capabilities in areas such as OKRs and measurement. Mentor and help train junior analysts, providing guidance and support. Demonstration of FINRA’s values. Collaboration, both in-person and virtually, in furtherance of FINRA’s mission of investor protection and market integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration; MBA or related graduate degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, FP&A, or a business operations role.
  • Agile Project Experience: Proven ability to manage ad-hoc projects with undefined scopes, moving from ambiguity to a structured answer quickly.
  • Relationship Skills: Demonstrated experience navigating matrixed organizations; ability to build trust with peers in other departments to facilitate data sharing and collaboration.
  • Advanced Analytical Toolset: Expert proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to build dynamic models and executive-ready presentations is essential.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple competing priorities/projects independently.
