About The Position

Lead Administrator, Salem High School, Salem Public Schools (INTERNAL ONLY) [SY 2025-2026] - Stipend Responsibilities Overview: Salem High School is looking for an administrator to assume additional responsibilities during the school day and during out of school time to ensure that all students thrive at Salem High School. The lead administrator will build and manage critical systems for student support, academic excellence, positive school climate and safety. Salem High School will utilize their Barr High School Redesign grant to support this stipend. Schoolwide Leadership & Strategic Oversight Serves as acting principal when the principal is not in the building, making building-level decisions on instruction, safety, and operations. Co-leads the development and execution of the School Improvement Plan with focus areas such as graduation pathways, college readiness, and school culture. Instructional Leadership Oversees after school credit recovery as well as alternative scheduling and the community office. Carefully monitors on-track indicators : credits earned, attendance, behavior trends, course failures- for students who benefit from these services. Coordinates standards based data collection and interventions- reviewing priority standards and addressing reteaching needs across teams. Middle to High School Transition Leads and plans middle school to high school transition events- develops outreach materials, coordinates events, organizes Summer Bridge and establishes systems to ensure a smooth transition from 8th to 9th grade. Management of After School Programming Provides daily supervision of staff member facilitating detention (1 ½ hours after school daily) Supervises operations related to athletics, fine arts, clubs, and extracurriculars—ensuring compliance, eligibility, and event supervision. 5. Student Culture, Discipline & Safety Leads and oversees RISE meetings and Risk review to ensure fidelity to protocols and follow-up to ensure that student needs are met. Oversees restorative practices, peer mediation, and interventions for repeated behavior issues. Develops professional development for all staff focused on improving student culture, support and engagement. Data & Accountability Analyzes attendance patterns, graduation projections, early warning indicators, and assessment data. Communicates data trends to staff and assists department heads in improving instructional outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must have more than 3 years experience as a secondary administrator
  • Must commit up to a minimum of 10 additional hours/week (40 hours a month) after regular work day Sept. 1-Aug. 31 (37 weeks)
