About The Position

Employees at this level independently perform a moderate variety of tasks within specific work guidelines. The majority of time is spent dealing with the traveling public, reservations, toll collection, performing tasks in support of the Ferry Operation. Work requires general knowledge of office practices and procedures to review, verify, complete, record, and/or balance records, reports and figures. Duties within the public contact function involve interaction with clients, patients, other employees and the public to gather, relay and explain information to establish and update records/reports or to determine eligibility for services. Employees usually function independently within defined guidelines. High volume computer skills are required in SAP/BSIP. Matters requiring additional interpretation are referred to the immediate supervisor. Duties include but are not limited to: • Supervise, plan and review all personnel under the direction of the Director and Deputy Director in the absence of the Operation Manager. • Monitor all monies and oversees tolls(if a toll ferry), data entry and statistical records and reports. • Plans, schedules and coordinates vessel crew staffing for crewmember compliment necessary to operate vessels and shore facilities on a weekly basis. • Fills in for the Operation Manager in his/her absence and deals with customers and traveling public and the ability to screen communications based on predetermined guidelines. • Records and Reports dealing with traffic figures, overtime and various reports on a daily basis. Compile and coordinate a variety of reports regarding the work process with supervisor and upper management. • Office Equipment Operation - Dealing with daily operation of office equipment and the ability to keep maintained for operation. Must be able to learn and apply skill to use a variety of office equipment. • Files and maintenance for coordination of workflow in office workstation. THIS POSITION WORKS AT THE CEDAR ISLAND FERRY OPERATIONS - 7 DAYS ON - 7 DAYS OFF

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of office procedures, methods and practices
  • Experience in gathering and giving information and instructions
  • Skilled in working with people with courtesy and tact, utilizing customer service skills
  • Skill in supervising or coordinating the work of other staff and temporary employees as needed in the absence of supervisor

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in using Windows 7 (or greater), Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer
