This position is for 3rd shift in Plant 15 Machining CMM lab. As a Layout Technician, you will perform inspection procedures, practices, and standard evaluation methods that will ensure product quality and integrity. You will utilize laboratory instruments and equipment to help analyze, control, and minimize product variations. Run programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines and other inspection equipment that result in a detailed report. Communicate relevant results to programmers and engineers for disposition. Perform capability studies, GR&R s, and first piece approvals when necessary. At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Quality / Manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of Blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Broad knowledge of quality processes
  • Experience performing basic dimensional inspections of parts utilizing calipers, micrometers, and various other hand-held gauges
  • Experience with metrology / inspection tools and methods
  • CMM programming (preferred) and / or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work overtime as needed (daily, rotating weekends, possibly holidays)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an ISO environment (preferred)
  • Internal auditing experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with aluminum machining methods (preferred)
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or other relevant field of study (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in operating and troubleshooting CMMs.
  • Able to set up and run various CMM programs utilizing Zeiss Calypso software.
  • Perform daily inspections of various production products.
  • Perform other inspections as needed including capability studies, GR&Rs, surface finish, and waviness.
  • Communicate and follow up regarding non-conformances.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Be proficient in the use of inspection equipment and interpretation of results.
  • Competent in reading machining engineering drawings.
  • Capable of making decisions based on collected data.
