Layout Technician - VDC

Summary/Objective: To assist the field crews by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes. This could include but not limited to the following... horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, hangers etc.
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience in surveying and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Two years CAD experience
- Must have strong computer skills and have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Current valid driver's license
- Must possess good work ethic and be accountable for deadlines
- Must be a self-starter
- Ability to work and communicate with others
- Must have acceptable driving record
Nice To Haves
- Prior military experience
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
- Field Engineer - Trimble Designer CAD
Responsibilities
- Working in the field environment
- Assisting field crews as well as other customers with layout
- Ability to use CAD software
- Ability to use Trimble software and hardware
- 3D spatial visualization/thinking skills a must
- Must possess strong problem solving skills
- Maintaining equipment on a daily basis and staying current with the annual calibration
- Other duties as assigned
