The ideal candidate will be responsible for the diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance of our diverse fleet of small engine equipment (lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) For generations, Spring-Green has been beautifying neighborhood lawns and landscapes and enriching lives in the communities we serve. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Must have small engine experience and willing to learn the lawn and pest control business
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old for insurability purposes.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday and some Saturdays as required
  • Must enjoy working on lawn equipment and small engines
  • Must be able to lift 50-pound bags of fertilizer, load, unload, push, lift and guide rotary spreader along with using a machine to spread fertilizer and spray weed control
  • Ability to follow driving directions and familiarity with assigned service area a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals
  • Have the ability to work independently without direct supervision on tasks related to the equipment listed in the key responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Small Engine Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repair 4-stroke small engines (e.g., walk-behind aerators, stand on aerators, ride on lawn and fertilizer equipment).
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical failures on lawncare equipment.
  • Conduct seasonal preparation and storage for all small equipment and trailers.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills to make appropriate lawn and tree care application services, diagnose lawn and tree problems, communicate the selling points of all Spring‐Green Services and effectively communicate the benefits to the customer.
  • Provide a high level of service to the customer by performing all service calls and assigned estimates on a priority basis.
  • Effectively communicate with the customer in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Obtain and maintain all required pesticide licenses, become familiar with product labels and SDS and accurately mix approved lawn or tree materials.
  • Perform professional service applications as outlined in your training and in The Spring‐Green Way.
