Summary: Eliminates and controls undesirable insects and animals. The applicator is versant in proper application methodology including calibration, application procedures and insect, arachnid and vertebrate identification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follows standard operating procedures for the management of pests including rats, mice, termites, cockroaches, spiders, bedbugs, ants, fleas, bees, wasps, bats, skunks, possums, squirrels and raccoons. Posts warning signs and locks building doors to secure area to be fumigated. Implements quality standards; conducts and documents follow-up inspections. Handles and stores pesticides. Operates truck equipped with power spraying equipment. Calibrates, maintains and repairs equipment. Properly utilizes basic IPM delivery tools and equipment. Stays current on practices and all local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to IPM for structural pest maintenance. Records all work activities performed. Cleans work site after completion of job. Attends required training to maintain commercial applicators license for Pest category. Maintains effective written and oral communication with supervisor and staff members. Performs all work in a safe manner for the employee and general public. Assists in emergency response due to inclement weather, i.e. snow and ice, tornado or other crisis. Performs other duties as assigned.
