About The Position

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for the successful operation of machines in the Laundry Room, and completion of all laundry functions in the Hotel, ensuring maximum productivity and superior guest service and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Minimum one (1) year of work experience as a Lead or supervisory role within the hotel housekeeping laundry preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in laundry facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate housekeeping products/equipment, chemical usage and right-to­ know laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Computer literacy and previous experiences using property management systems are preferred.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure all Housekeeping Laundry departmental standards for cleanliness are being met on a consistent basis.
  • Oversees staff to ensure guest/outlets satisfaction is a performance priority.
  • Implementing and ensuring all Housekeeping Laundry operations on assigned shift are in accordance with company policies and procedures and high standard levels.
  • Ensure safe and proper use laundering equipment in order to thoroughly clean and press linen, while keeping staff and the work area clean and safe.
  • Help ensure laundry operations run smoothly by alerting Facilities department, or Equipment vendor when equipment stops working properly.
  • Developed and maintain a positive relationship with maintenance to report, recommend maintenance or repairs needed.
  • Monitors and maintains proper inventory levels in the laundry room and linen closets on the floors.
  • Folds clean linens, towels and sheets and stores in appropriate areas.
  • Check laundry chemicals daily and replaced them when level is one inch above the base.
  • Inspect lint traps in dryers at least every two hours or after drying new towels process.
  • To follow all specified procedures of laundry handling tasks as directed, including sorting and folding linens; loading, unloading and processing linen and operating washer and dryers.
  • To ensure drain grates are cleaned by-weekly, or as needed.
  • Report all suspicious occurrences or hazardous conditions immediately to avoid safety issues.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to Assistant Executive Housekeeper and/or Executive Housekeeper.
  • Maintain and provide the example of a high standard of personal appearance and grooming
  • Ensure that all areas in laundry are properly cleaned and safe.
  • Coach, monitor, and develop team members for improved performance
  • Ability to focus on attention to details and be able to organize, prioritize and follow-up
  • Be able to use computer software to facilitate open and closing reports on a daily basis.
  • Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties assigned by management as requested.
  • Assist hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining corrective actions, motivating, team member relation issues, and coaching employees.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Assistant Executive Housekeeper and/or Executive Housekeeper; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Direct laundry staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safe use of laundry equipment.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Delegate work to meet business objectives and goals.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to laundry staff.
  • Ensure progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Will work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations.
