Requirements

  • Must be at least (18) years of age.
  • High school education or equivalent required. Some college preferred or combination of college and industry experience.
  • Four to five years of hotel housekeeping experience or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience from the combined listed above

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and evaluate physical condition of establishment and implement corrective action for any deficient areas.
  • Coordinate and administer all housekeeping programs and projects.
  • Manage staff to perform duties to maintain AAA Four Diamond requirements and standards.
  • Establishes standards and operating procedures for laundry staff.
  • Assures laundry programs are followed for all laundry related operations.
  • Approves all reasonable guest requests, and follows up on guest complaints to ensure AAA Four Diamond standards are met.
  • Analyze and recognize any deficiencies or problem areas and provide corrective action to accomplish desired results.
  • Manages departmental financial operating expenses including, but not limited to, budget, P&L, labor costs, controllables, and cost of goods.
  • Plans work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels; adjusts or balances the size of staff in order to maximize productivity or control labor costs without sacrificing Guest service.
  • Implements, adheres, and monitors all department and property policies and procedures including but not limited to standards of conduct, attendance, appearance, cash handling, confidentiality, safety, signature sequence of service, and sanitation.
  • Resolves service opportunities; communicates with appropriate Team Members and leaders regarding Guest feedback.
  • Interacts with Guests and Team Members by maintaining a visible presence in Guest areas during peak business periods.
  • Works with all departments to successfully execute Ameristar strategies to maximize operational efficiencies and improve both the Guest and Team Member experience.
  • Maintains the morale of the department through open communication and teamwork by deploying targeted communication strategies that inform and build support.
  • - Ensures accountability for all compliance issues, regulations, laws and health requirements as related to hotel operations.
  • Complies with all training initiatives, including, but not limited to attendance of all required participants, ongoing assessment of individual or department performance, and follow-up.
  • Performs all administrative duties as required to successfully manage the department.
  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the Laundry functions as well as Back of the House areas.
  • Enters information via VR & Kronos for payroll processing.
  • Provides direction and support for all staff members in order to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Coaches and develops Team Members using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.
  • Strives to improve and streamline departmental operations through the continuous assessment of policies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness/value.
  • Allocates resources to areas that create value to our guests and to Ameristar.
  • Ensures business objectives, ethics and values of Ameristar.
  • Helps maintain and enhance a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests and team members.
  • Ensures that guest problems/complaints are managed in a timely, effective and courteous manner.
  • Supervises training of all Laundry staff with an emphasis on detail to ensure service levels consistent with Ameristar’s guest service.
  • Coordinates cross training between all positions.
  • - Responsible for thorough investigation of lost/misplaced guest items and accurate recording of investigation and final disposition.
  • - Coordinates recovery efforts with Security and Risk Management.
  • Grants complimentary for hospitality purposes only.
  • Works to ensure compliance with corporate internal Audit and SOX requirements.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and fluctuating days off.
  • Carries out duties associated with the following positions as necessary: Laundry Attendant.
  • Conducts all key handling in accordance with key handling policy and monitors on a daily basis.
  • Monitors telephone communication via call monitoring system.
  • Works with Front Office and Casino Marketing to ensure timely guest check-in and maximum occupancy.
  • Coordinated ViP arrivals and ensures all arrangements have been confirmed prior to arrival.
  • Monitors volumes to ensure fast, friendly and efficient service.
  • Ensures that all Laundry Team Members behavior and appearance are in compliance with established policy.
  • Conduct and attends all regular departmental meetings as well as other related meetings.
  • Completes necessary reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
  • Fills in for Housekeeping Supervisor as needed
