About The Position

The Laundry Services Associate is responsible for preparing and adhering labels to residents' personal clothing items, completing and filing clothing inventory sheets, and returning marked clothing to residents' rooms. The role also involves picking up soiled laundry and linens, sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, mending, and hanging residents' personal laundry according to established procedures. Clean personal laundry and linens are delivered to designated areas. The associate is also responsible for removing tattered or worn clothing/linens after checking with residents or family members, notifying supervisors of the need for new linens, operating and routinely cleaning laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, irons, steamers, folders, and sewing machines, and monitoring supplies. The position requires working in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares labels and adheres them to residents' personal clothing items.
  • Completes and files clothing inventory sheets for residents.
  • Returns marked clothing to residents' room.
  • Picks up soiled laundry from residents.
  • Sorts, washes, folds, irons, mends, and hangs residents' personal laundry and according to established procedures.
  • Delivers clean personal laundry to residents' rooms.
  • Removes tattered residents' clothing after checking with the resident or family member.
  • Picks up soiled linens from wings and dining room.
  • Sorts, washes, dries, and folds and returns linens to designated areas.
  • Removes worn and torn linens.
  • Notifies supervisor of need for new linens.
  • Performs tasks in association with operating the following equipment: washers, dyers, irons, steamers, folders, and sewing machines.
  • Performs routine cleaning of equipment.
  • Monitors supplies and notifies supervisor when low.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
