About The Position

This position reports directly to the chief engineer. The laundry engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance of all equipment. This position performs all preventative maintenance on all production and supporting equipment. Also, assists the chief engineer with managing utility consumption, operation of boilers, purchasing of parts and service, service center layout and equipment install and maintenance to support optimum customer service. The laundry engineer will also holds primary responsibility for the cleanliness and overall appearance of the service center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Two to five years of experience in a fast paced, high speed manufacturing setting.
  • Equipment Maintenance and repair (required)
  • Electrical/ Electronic (480V) (required)
  • Mechanical (conveyors, boilers, high- and low-pressure steam, plumbing and hydraulics). (required)
  • Skill in solving practical problems in a high demand position.
  • Excellent organization skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to be proactive and remain positive in a multi-tasking, high demand position.
  • Flexible with scheduling to operations demands.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Work Permit.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Hepatitis A & B Shots.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
  • Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Flexible with scheduling to accommodate operations demands.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and ensures compliance to health, safety and environmental requirements and regulations as applicable to the laundry operation (Tribal, State and Federal).
  • Coordinates the care and maintenance of all the equipment within the operation.
  • Maintains constant interaction with supervisors and managers, as well as service center team members, in order to maintain awareness of service activities.
  • Purchases parts, equipment, and services to support operations within budget.
  • Utilizes the company provided preventative Maintenance Software (HippoFM) to ensure machinery remains in optimal condition.
  • Knows chemicals used in washing and all associated and related hazards.
  • Manages utilities consumption and ensures efficient boiler operation.
  • Abides by all safety regulations. Uses safety equipment where required. Uses all equipment, machinery, cleaning products and materials issued strictly according to the proper methods and or instructions.
  • Has the ability to read and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and machine manuals and schematics.
  • Follows and enforces exposure control procedures within the service center, especially concerning maintenance in the soil sort and wash areas.
  • Ensures control/protection of company assets.
  • Ensures compliance with Kalispel Tribe of Indians, Internal Controls, and KTEA Policies and Procedures.
