About The Position

The In-House Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring all hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and designated guest items are cleaned, processed, and returned according to The Whitehall Houston’s quality and brand standards. This role supports daily hotel operations by maintaining a steady flow of clean, well-presented laundry while adhering to safety, sanitation, and efficiency expectations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and takes pride in contributing to an exceptional guest experience behind the scenes.

Requirements

• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred (hotel or hospitality environment a plus)
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively
• Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and equipment (training provided as needed)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions
• Comfortable working in a warm, humid environment

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other assigned items according to established procedures
• Operate laundry equipment including washers, dryers, presses, and folding machines safely and efficiently
• Follow proper chemical handling, dilution, and safety protocols at all times
• Inspect linens for stains, damage, or wear; remove damaged items from circulation and report concerns to leadership
• Maintain accurate linen counts and assist with inventory control
• Ensure timely distribution of clean linens to housekeeping and other departments
• Keep the laundry area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly
• Assist with special laundry requests or projects as assigned
• Comply with all hotel policies, safety procedures, and attendance standards
