About The Position

Maryland Masonic Homes (MMH), a premier continuing care retirement community located in northern Baltimore County has an exciting opportunity for a Part Time 24 (3 days a week with included every other weekend. MMH provides quality care in independent, assisted living, and healthcare; and is now a proud participant of the Medicare program. The EVS/Laundry Aide will work under the Director of Environmental Services to provide quality customer service that leaves a lasting impression on those we serve. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Must be able to meet the standards of the MMH MVP Customer Service Program.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
  • Slip Resistant Shoes are required.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.

  • Qualified candidates will have relevant work experience, be able to provide outstanding customer service, work as part of a team and have a demonstrated history of dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by following infection control procedures when laundering residents clothing and lines.
  • Identify and report any malfunctions in equipment.
  • Transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer.
  • Hang, fold and stack garments and linens.
  • Report to the supervisor on any garments or linens in ill repair.
  • Distribute clothes to the residents and checks labels on the clothing to make sure that the clothes are given to the right resident.
  • Fill in as EVS Aide, if needed.
  • Participate in in-service training.
  • Follow the Fire Plan and abide by the Patients Bill of Rights and the Maryland Masonic Homes policies and procedures.
