Martha & Mary in Poulsbo, Washington is seeking a Full-Time Laundry Aide. General Description The Laundry Aide will assist the laundry team, the Laundry Technician and the Director of Environmental Services. Works most closely with the following internal staff to effectively meet our resident’s needs: NACs, Unit Aides, Housekeepers, and Other Laundry Aides There will be limited External Customer Contact that may include: Residents and their family & friends, Vendors and Volunteers Pay:  The wage scale for this position is $17.25/hr. and up to $20.13/hr. depending on relatable experience determined by hiring manager and HR. Schedule:  Tues/Weds/Sat/Sun: 5am to 1:30pm.

Requirements

  • Someone who can keep pace with laundry staff and machines to ensure laundry is properly cleaned
  • Someone who can be on their feet for their entire shift
  • Someone who has their high school diploma or equivalent
  • Good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Tend laundering machines to clean sheets, blankets, pillow coverings and personal articles of residents.
  • Load articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent or other cleaning agents.
  • Lift clean wet articles from washer and place these articles successively into dryers for measured time cycles.
  • Sort dry articles according to identification numbers, name or type.
  • Fold and place items in appropriate storage bin.
  • Hang clothes on racks according to name and numbers.
  • Deliver all personal laundry to designated areas and track resident’s personal clothing inventory.
  • Ensures that all clothes are mended and ready to wear.
  • Ensures laundry area and floors remain neat and clean.
  • Understand functions of various soaps and bleaches.
  • May also assist residents to eat in dining rooms as regulations allow.
