About The Position

Seeking a full-time Laundry Aide to meet the needs of our residents. Provides laundry services for the residents of the community. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Picks up laundry from residents rooms ensuring all items are identifiable and sorted according to the proper resident. Sorts, washes, dries, folds and hangs laundry according to community's procedures. Irons as required, according to community's procedures. Returns clean laundry to proper residents room. Mains confidentiality of residents personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents rights. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the residents, families, vendors, and guests. Maintains a positive customer service environment and practices honesty and integrity in all aspects of performance. Attends all scheduled in-services and training sessions. Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents’ / guests’ requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes. Performs all other duties as assigned or required. Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job There are no managerial duties for this position.

Requirements

Knowledge of washing, sorting, and ironing techniques.
Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff.
Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly.
Must be knowledgeable of the location of the MSDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines.
Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise.
Demonstrates a SERVANT heart and attitude by following our mission statement.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic laundry experience needed.
Light physical effort required to handle object up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and handle bulky objects.
