White Oak of Tryon is a 70-bed skilled care and rehabilitation facility who provides person-centered care to each of our residents. A very important part of the service and care that we provide each day for our Residents is a clean and well-maintained environment. Our Laundry Team is a tenured and committed group of professionals. We are hiring our next on time, committed, flexible full-time Laundry Aide who is looking for a work culture that values each of their employees and expects excellence. We serve our residents every day by ensuring that their linens and clothing are clean and the details are tended to. Hours: 3pm - 11pm Tuesday thru Saturday. White Oak Manor of Tryon is proud to offer a drug, tobacco, vape and alcohol-free workplace We are an Equal Opportunity Employer JOB TITLE: Environmental Services Laundry Aide DEPARTMENT: Laundry SUPERVISOR: Housekeeping/Laundry Services Supervisor PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to implement laundry procedures to operate the laundry department in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents needs in compliance with Federal, State and local requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate preferred. Good physical health. Sense of responsibility. Experience in washing or laundry activities and use of laundry supplies preferred. Ability to follow directions and understand the importance of cleanliness and sanitation. Ability to cooperate with other employees. WORKING HOURS: 7.5 hours per day unless part-time status. Pay period based on 75 hours in a 14-day period. THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Laundry Services Supervisor or Environmental Services Supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS: Well-lighted, well-ventilated work area. Stands, bends, stoops, lifts heavy, wet wash, walks short distances during work day. Pushes carts. Exposed to heat and steam. May handle contaminated articles. HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY: Responsible to adhere to HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY guidelines and safeguard protected health information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in washing or laundry activities and use of laundry supplies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and sorts soiled linens.
  • Operates washers and driers using established formulas and following instructions for operation of machines.
  • Folds and counts dry linens to be put on shelves.
  • Puts linens on carts and distributes to departments according to daily needs.
  • Cleans and maintains washing and drying equipment.
  • Informs supervisor when laundry supplies and equipment are low.
  • Notifies Administration immediately of necessary maintenance of machine.
  • If asked to launder residents clothes, they are washed separate from bed linens and Laundry Aide takes special care in collecting resident clothing from rooms and returning such to appropriate areas. Environmental Services Laundry Aide must check to be sure residents name is marked in personal clothing. Laundry markers are available for such identification as needed.
