Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Launch Structural Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in structural assembly, repair, and modification, especially within the aerospace sector - with exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a structural mechanic in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and structural repair techniques.
  • Specific skills in riveting, drilling, and fastener installation
  • Clear understanding of surface preparation for bonding, incremental drilling for hole sizing for screws, rivets, wet bonding processes
  • Mechanical assembly and torque specification adherence
  • Knowledge of various types of rivets, such as solid rivets, blind rivets, Hi-Lock, Hi-Lite, and CherryMax, including installation requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to adapt and follow detailed, technical instructions.
  • Hands-on work with flight hardware, test setups, and precision instruments.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Availability for extended shifts during launch campaigns.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with laser tracking and metrology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural assembly, repair, and modifications of telecommunication satellites and related structures in accordance with drawing specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals to determine required repairs or modifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and team members to resolve technical issues and support process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and repairs completed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
