About The Position

The NPI Lead is responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams in the plant to ensure the successful and flawless implementation of processes for new launches. This includes developing standard work that guarantees employee safety, product quality, high process efficiency, and productive capacity to complete deliverables on time. The NPI Lead also works with the Head Launch Engineering at New Launch and guides the Supplier Chain Team in learning new processes.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 yrs of experience in projects
  • At least 3 yrs of experience in process or manufacturing areas
  • At least 3 yrs of experience as a Leader in the manufacturing industry
  • Bilingual in English 90%

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a timeline for the implementation of the process and Deliverables/key milestones of the project and ensure compliance on time and within the budget.
  • Coordinate the new process development and efficiency during the Launch and 30 days after the SOP [Start of Production] (first 30 days after SOP is responsible together with the Process Engineer).
  • Support the definition of the Direct Labor “needed to run” for each of the new processes in the plant (together with Engineering Site Lead).
  • Coordinate the definition of the cycle times for each operation of the new processes and maintain them during Launch, and document it for Plant Staff approval prior to SOP (together with Engineering Site Lead).
  • Assist in developing the Standard Work for the new processes that allow us to achieve our targeted efficiency (including packaging).
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of PFMEAs for each of the new processes and support the multidisciplinary teams in the reviews of the PFMEAs during Launch in order to prevent cost of poor quality.
  • Coordinate the Supply Chain team in the plant to ensure successful processes in new launches/projects.
  • Guarantee the industrialization of the plant in time to support the Launch.
  • Support the Launch Lead and Engineering Site Lead to ensure a proper budget for each Launch/Project and utilization (expenses and capex).
  • Support the Launch Lead and the Engineering Site Led to ensure the proper staff support and develop each Launch/Project.
  • Act as a liaison between the plant PE and corporate teams to facilitate interaction during the development of the process during launch/project, including the communication with R&D/Product on the design phase.
  • Ensure that the PE and Ops team actively participate in the development and validation process during the launch/project.
  • Lead with multifunctional teams a flawless ramp up of the process for the launch/project until it is handed over to Operations after LV2.
  • Manage and track all the Process Engineering open items for launches/projects and keeps communicated to the Launch Lead, Operation Director and Engineering Site Lead of any potential risk.
  • Assist in validating and approving packaging design together with the packing CoE team, specifications and appearance for new packaging or new equipment/tooling for packaging for new Launches.
  • Participate in leading and performing packaging trials and tests in the plant together with Packaging CoE team for new Launches.
  • Coordinate the ECN implementation, on time and within the budget for new Launches during Launch.
  • Participate in the definition of the optimal layout for any new equipment, tooling or process including packaging together with Industrial Engineering CoE team, for new Launches.
  • Participate in the definition of the optimal process flow for any new equipment, tooling or process including packaging together with Industrial, Automation and Maintenance CoE team for new Launches.
  • Ensure Best Practices are considered and implemented (as needed) for new Launches.
  • Support the performance of the LV1 (together with Engineering Site Lead) and support the proper documentation of the results (headcount, cycle times, rates, efficiencies, scrap %, rework %, etc.).
  • Support LV2 events for new Launches (as needed).
  • Help remove any roadblocks that can prevent the process for the launch/project to be successful.
  • Support the Engineering Site Lead in New Launches (as needed) and provide guidance to the team in New Launches whenever the Engineering Site Lead is not available.
