Launch Engineer III - Propulsion

BLUE ORIGINWest Melbourne, FL
Onsite

About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We are dedicated to developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role specifically supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed for human-capable missions to various orbits. As part of a team, you will contribute to the testing and operation of the New Glenn vehicle, managing systems from receipt at the launch site through launch and landing. You will collaborate with other teams to define operational requirements and advocate for design-for-operations. The position involves authoring detailed procedures, developing test equipment for integrated flight systems, and leading teams of technicians and engineers while ensuring safety. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules, quality documents, and engineering. As a member of the Launch Operations team, you will prepare the launch vehicle and ground systems for flight, which includes developing ground software requirements, writing sequencer code, and creating controller panels. There is an opportunity to become a certified launch controller, operating systems on launch day, and to troubleshoot anomalies during time-critical operations. Post-flight, you will conduct data reviews and implement process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality to advance safe human spaceflight, driven by a passion for Blue Origin's mission and vision.
