The Louisville, Kentucky site of BAE Systems, provider of some of the world’s most advanced, technology-led defense, aerospace and security solutions, is actively seeking an Laser Tracker Inspector. This position will support the Second Shift on a 9/80 Schedule with typical hours 3:30 p.m. - 1 a.m. This role is responsible for developing quality plans, quality assurance procedures, performing layout work on applicable measurement equipment using Faro, Leica or similar laser inspection equipment and offline programming using Spatial Analyzer software. The Laser Tracker Inspector: Reads and interprets customer drawings and specifications and identifies appropriate inspection methods. Interprets geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications. Performs first piece, last piece, and in-process inspection checks. Evaluates nonconforming material to determine final disposition. Provides support to Manufacturing Engineering and other business units. Direct the work of less senior personnel. Uses laser tracker to align components to machine coordinates. Determines best fit for weldments to optimize machine stock. Supports when needed on off-shifts and/or via overtime. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
