About The Position
The Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area. We are searching for a full-time laser technician to join our busy practice. Job Purpose This position exists to assist surgeons with laser surgery, including but not limited to, LASIK/Intralase, LenSx, Yag, Argon, and Diode lasers. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a safe patient care environment where all laser safety recommendations are followed.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons with laser procedures (LASIK/ Intralase, LenSx, Yag, Argon, Diode)
- Calibrate and operate laser equipment (LASIK/ Intralase, LenSx )
- Maintain calibration records according to manufacturer’s instructions for use (LASIK/ Intralse, LenSx)
- Prepare patients, as ordered by the surgeon, for laser procedures
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records related to care received and laser parameters utilized for treatment
