About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Safety # 1 Prepares packing slips, Bill of Lading (BOL) and export documents when necessary. Conduct final inspection of all company paperwork related to shipping. General housekeeping in accordance with the Traffic / Shipping expectations. Assist Sales department on shipping issues. Assists customers on paperwork issues such as reprinting, fixing, and emailing of the documents. Coordinates required activities for export shipments. Schedules inbound freight from the mills. Responsible for giving driving directions to carriers when they call. Responsible for maintaining information regarding NAFTA. Contacts carriers when items are ready for shipment. Utilizes freight tables to verify correct shipping cost. Processes all UPS / FedEx shipments via computer. Matches signed BOL with Sales order. Finalizes BOL if necessary. Assist Invoicing Clerk, if required. Prepare certifications in accordance with Sales order request. Maintain Clampco ship list. Assists with training of new personnel. Other duties as assigned by supervision. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
