About The Position

Key member of Value+ team to drive the acceptance and growth of a new premium steel for laser cutting applications.The individual will lead engagement of internal and external parties in training, price policies and controls, technical support, and forecasting.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in Sales, Product Management, or Category Management,
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of steel industry products and processing, markets, customers and pricing
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent organizational and conceptual skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Category Management / Competitor Analysis / Customer Insights / Customer Relationship Management (CRM) / Data Analysis / Demand Forecasting / Forecasting / Market Research / New Product Introduction / Pricing Management / Product Marketing / Product Optimization / Product Strategy / Sales Strategy / Strategic Sourcing / Category Strategy

Nice To Haves

  • 15 years of commercial experience in carbon plate and CTL markets
  • 5 years of strategic market development responsibilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • MBA or similar advanced degree.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products and introducing products to the market.
  • Conducts research and develops a good understanding of the customer's needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors.
  • Partners with SSAB Americas sales teams to enable product adoption and growth to drive sales and achieve targets
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Provides input into developing the budget (volume and revenue) and strategy plan
  • Establish pricing policies and controls to ensure the integrity of the product
  • Oversees the analysis and assessment of category/brand performance.
