About The Position

Second Shift Laser Operator Opportunity Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM $5.00/hour second shift premium available for full-time roles! Summary Under the supervision of the Next Level Supervisor, the Laser Operator operates, maintains, and provides informal on the job training for all equipment that is used in conjunction with the associated laser process. Essential Duties & Responsibilities This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Run and operate the laser by loading raw materials and unloading finished parts while utilizing the appropriate personal protective equipment; monitors mechanical performance throughout. Complete secondary operations on produced or other parts or components as directed. Use appropriate measuring tools to verify finished parts’ conformance to company and ISO standards. Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in alignment with departmental, operational, and corporate guidelines, specifications, and regulations. Perform PM service and minor repairs on all lasers and all auxiliary equipment. Monitor inventory of replacement parts and consumables. Maintain and organize inventory of material used on laser. Navigate software to be able to convert drawings to necessary code for use in laser. Ability to nest parts for laser. Other functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education and one or more years of Laser experience including the completion of equivalent training and/or on-the-job experience.
  • Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use shop math (i.e. algebra, trig and geometry).
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to use precise measuring devices incidental to operations such as ruler, calipers, micrometers, and square and fixed gauges.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough understanding of machine capabilities and applications
  • Knowledge to apply correct machine settings
  • Ability to navigate with EPICOR scheduling system and applicable software systems associated with the laser processes
  • Capable to read work instructions and operating guidelines
