As a Laser Operator, you will play a key role in our steel fabrication operations. You will be responsible for independently operating and maintaining flat laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components. This position is best suited for individuals with prior laser cutting experience, strong blueprint reading ability, and a focus on precision and efficiency. Requirements

  • Previous experience operating laser cutting equipment in a fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in flat laser cutting operations.
  • Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions)
  • Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper)
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude
  • Must possess proficiency in reading flat blueprints.
  • Must be able to obtain internal forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Mitsubishi and/or Trumpf flat lasers.
  • Prior lifting device experience (forklift, cranes, jibs, hoists, magnets, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate flat laser cutting machines for steel and other metals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Safely operate forklifts to move and stage materials.
  • Record production data in ERP systems and complete quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to drive efficiency and process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and quality standards.
