About The Position

The Laser Operator at MORGAN STEEL LLC is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to ensure precise and efficient cutting of metal materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in the production process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training or certification in laser technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proven track record of working in a steel fabrication environment, demonstrating familiarity with materials and processes.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laser cutting machinery, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of laser technology and its applications in metal cutting and fabrication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in cutting operations.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and supervisors regarding production needs and equipment status.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine operation interface.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate laser cutting machines to process metal materials according to detailed specifications and work orders.
  • Interpret and understand technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate cutting and shaping of materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor the cutting process to ensure the quality and precision of the finished product, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production schedules and meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Record and report production data, including material usage and machine performance, to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior operators to enhance team capabilities and productivity.
