You'll be surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do. Help us succeed by doing your part as a member of our Machine Shop as a Laser Machine Operator. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the industry’s most advanced and new multi-axis laser cutting machine centers to produce complex high-precision components for aerospace and defense industrial applications. You will work closely with team leaders, engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. You will be part of a team that possesses passionate sense of pride and determination.

Requirements

  • Experience with industrial laser cutting machines. Multi-axis experience is a plus. Prima Power Laserdyne experience is a plus. Fiber laser experience is a plus.
  • Ability to set up laser machining centers completely and independently
  • Familiar with G&M machine codes and programming structures
  • Familiar with linear coordinate systems and offsets. Familiarity with multi-axis rotations, single/dual rotaries is a plus.
  • Ability to follow complex work instructions in compliance with procedures and specifications
  • Identify machining issues regarding equipment, tooling/fixtures, and part tolerances
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and GD&T
  • Inspect to detail drawings or sketches using precision measuring devices
  • Recognize improper machine functioning or cutting 
  • Adhere to and respect fixed-processes and NADCAP requirements
  • Perform basic daily and weekly machine checklists and preventative maintenance
  • Provide respectful and constructive feedback regarding process performance while working with engineering, quality, management, and other employees.
  • Able to obtain laser safety certification in accordance with LIA/OSHA/ANSI
  • Take ownership of performance personal throughput/quality
  • Train other employees as needed and perform all other duties as assigned
  • Be a team player that is passionate about their craft
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred 3 years experience

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-axis experience is a plus.
  • Prima Power Laserdyne experience is a plus.
  • Fiber laser experience is a plus.
  • Experience laser cutting tight tolerance and complex geometry parts is a plus
  • Familiarity with multi-axis rotations, single/dual rotaries is a plus.
