Requirements

  • Experience operating CNC equipment such as milling machines or lathes (including setup, offsets, and basic edits preferred)
  • Ability to transfer CNC milling skills to laser machining operations
  • Strong manual dexterity and the ability to handle small, delicate parts
  • Knowledge of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gauges, scales)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications with solid shop math understanding
  • Familiarity with cutting tools, tooling accessories, fixtures, and holders
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment
  • Reliable and prompt attendance
  • Willingness to train on 1st shift when required

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines (primarily 2-axis laser machining centers) under supervision
  • Load and unload small, fragile ceramic and metal parts
  • Prove tapes, operate machine controls, set offsets, and perform simple program edits as needed
  • Deburr and inspect parts for accuracy and quality standards
  • Interpret drawings, manuals, samples, and specifications to determine dimensions and machining requirements
  • Measure and mark materials using precision tools for reference points and accuracy
  • Detect out-of-tolerance machining, adjust equipment within capability, and report issues to supervisors
  • Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, and quality teams to resolve machining questions
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventative maintenance
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and occasional training on 1st shift if needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
