About The Position

Joining a dynamic team of welders, fabricators, and sheet metal workers, our CNC operators bring their specialized skills and experience to some of the most unique metal fabricating projects in the area. You will train and become an expert operator on our laser, press brake, Tennsmith, and coil line to produce top of the line commercial duct products. If you are an experienced CNC machinist, we want YOU!

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 1-3 years of CNC machine operating experience, preferably in a sheet metal shop
  • Ability to obtain (in-house) forklift certification
  • Keen understanding of sheet metal and industrial duct work
  • Must be able to operate a laser and machines for cutting/bending metal (training provided)
  • Must be mechanically inclined and be able to understand how a complex machine works and make adjustments when needed
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have reliable transportation to work
  • Must be able to work Mon-Fri, 7:00 am-3:30 pm, with periodic overtime
  • In-depth knowledge of computer and information systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to be a team-player
  • In-depth knowledge of metal machinery
  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills
  • Excellent understanding of mechanics and mathematics
  • Ability to interpret 3D drawings and orthographic projection
  • Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such a timecard information, emails, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand basic part drawings
  • Follow procedure to turn equipment on and off
  • Set up machinery for production
  • Troubleshoot any issues with machinery and report to maintenance
  • Load metal into machine from coil or sheet
  • Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery
  • Enter all relevant codes to specify the speed and desired finishes
  • Make machine adjustments, change nozzles and lenses when needed
  • Monitor equipment while operating
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment
  • Complete routine maintenance of machinery
  • Follow all safety protocols for the shop and machine operations
  • Other duties as assigned by management
