About The Position

SUMMARY: Ability to interpret accurately for any management or personnel staff. Must be able to interpret for any team members who are non- English speaking. Ability to interpret documents accurately from English to Lao or Vis versa. Must be able to assist the dispensary staff with physicals and doctor appointments including interpretation for any non English-speaking team members at the doctor s office. Any other tasks or miscellaneous duties deemed appropriate by the supervisor. This position provides interpreting and translation services and administrative support while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Experience: 100 bilingual English Lao Good general knowledge of the production areas and management personnel. Skilled in accurate interpretation. Must be able to communicate translate effectively in verbal and written format English Lao and translate written documents. Confidentiality is a must. Computer Skills: Basic PC skills preferred. Primarily Microsoft programs such as Excel Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office programs. Communication Skills: Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management as well as government officials. Special Skills: Ability to drive a company vehicle. Must carry a valid driver s license. Class D Chauffeurs License is preferred to attend outside appointments Excellent people skills and a willingness to assist as needed. Ability to work under little supervision. REQUIREMENTS: Split shift with occasional nights / mornings depending on needs. An interpreter assessment will be required to determine the individual’s language proficiency and ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written.
