About The Position

Vesta Property Services has been in the industry for more than 30 years, holding over 800 community management contracts and serving the amenity needs of Florida's most prestigious communities. The on-site Landscape Specialist will provide independent oversight of landscape contracts, tree and palm contracts, palm fertilization programs, and association mulch programs. This role ensures vendor compliance with terms and conditions, documents overall performance daily, and recommends corrective action when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active/Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Specific knowledge of the maintenance requirements for typical Florida turfgrass strains, Florida plant, trees and ornamental landscaping maintenance requirements.
  • Proficient in proper practices for maintenance and care of all landscapes i.e. mowing, edging, pruning, arbor care, pest control, irrigation and fertilization.
  • Direct experience in residential/commercial landscaping maintenance as a crew lead and/or supervisor of landscaping crews.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer FNGLA (Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association) certification, or equivalent accreditation. If not certified upon start, must be willing to gain certification early in the role.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Microsoft suite products, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word in particular.
  • Utilize iAuditor digital inspections or similar inspection software.
  • Conduct daily inspection of Association landscaping, noting any contract variances and/or deficiencies in quality.
  • Meet with Board Members or designated points of contact for the association on a routine basis to address their specific needs and determine satisfaction with the landscape vendors.
  • Partner with the Vendors to help provide outstanding service and landscapes to the Associations and ensure services are provided in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between the landscape vendors and board members.
  • Prepare weekly landscape grading scores based on select criteria.
  • Utilize the work order system for tracking and follow up on landscaping items from the Associations daily.
  • Perform general office skills i.e. telephone, computer, filing, copying, scanning etc.
  • Prepare reports and receive reports, organize, and securely file records.
  • Facilitate proper workflow for assigned documents and information.
