We are seeking a skilled and dependable Landscaping Plant Health Care Technician. The ideal candidate will hold a current Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Pesticide Applicator License. Location of Position: Wylie, TX The Position: The Plant Health Care Technician is responsible for the safe and effective application of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and other chemicals in compliance with TDA regulations and company policies. This role is critical in supporting our mission to provide safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible pest and vegetation management services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications or relevant coursework a plus.
  • Current and valid TDA Pesticide Applicator License(Commercial or Noncommercial, as applicable).
  • 1+ years of experience in chemical application preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas pesticide laws, labeling, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS).
  • Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on various terrains.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Mix, load, and apply pesticides and herbicides using approved methods and calibrated equipment.
  • Inspect sites to determine the type of treatment needed and ensure correct application timing and coverage.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed application records in compliance with TDA regulations.
  • Calibrate and maintain application equipment, ensuring functionality and safety standards.
  • Safely handle, store, and transport chemicals in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Identify pest and weed types and recommend effective chemical treatments.
  • Ensure proper signage and safety procedures are followed at treatment sites.
  • Communicate effectively with clients or site managers regarding application procedures, restrictions, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine vehicle and equipment checks and report any issues to management.
  • Keep up to date with changes in pesticide laws, chemical labels, and safety protocols.
