About The Position

Encore Wire is one of the nation’s top copper and aluminum wire manufacturers, outfitting residential, commercial and industrial spaces across the US for a customer base that would blow your mind! Producing over $1 billion of wire every year, with over 1,300 employees and almost 2 million sq. ft. of manufacturing space under our roof, we want to continue our history of growth. Encore is seeking individuals who are looking to join the Landscaping Crew. In this role, you will be on the frontlines helping make our 432-acre campus look as good as our wire does.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or G.E.D certificate preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in ground maintenance/horticulture preferred.
Ability to read and write the English language.
Ability to properly and safely operate all hand tools and power equipment used in ground maintenance activities.
Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time.
Ability to assume a variety of bodily positions and postures possibly for long periods of time to include sitting, standing, bending, reaching, leaning, pushing, pulling, grasping, turning, twisting, lifting and walking.

Responsibilities

Gathers and removes litter; disposes trash or waste materials.
Uses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
Operates vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws.
Irrigates lawns, trees, or plants.
Prunes or trims trees, shrubs, or hedges.
Mows or edges lawns using power mowers or edgers.
Follows planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage.
Clears sidewalks, driveways and parking lots of debris.
Performs minor repairs; maintains all assigned equipment, vehicles and trailers, to include checking fluid levels, refueling, checking tire pressure, cleaning adjusting and greasing.
Attends training and other required company functions as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
