LOCATION: This role is located in Tampa, FL - Onsite. Relocation assistance is not provided. Position Summary The Project Engineer supports the project management team in the execution of large-scale commercial landscape installation projects. This role partners closely with the Project Manager to assist with planning, coordination, documentation, and oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and in alignment with contract documents and quality standards. This position requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with field teams, estimating, sales, vendors, and branch leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in landscape construction, site construction, or project coordination
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using project management and estimating software
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day execution of multiple active landscape installation projects
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure construction services are delivered according to contract specifications, schedules, and budgets
  • Assist with work planning, sequencing, and coordination across crews and subcontractors
  • Participate in project meetings, site walkthroughs, and punch-list reviews as needed
  • Gather pricing and support estimate development
  • Review plans with the estimating team to validate scope, quantities, and assumptions
  • Support the management of the project document control, including: Submittals Change orders Field production tracking Purchasing documentation Contract administration
  • Maintain organized and accurate project files, drawings, and specifications
  • Prepare reports and project information as requested by Project Managers or branch leadership
  • Support budget tracking, cost coding, and expense monitoring
  • Track labor, equipment, and material costs against project budgets
  • Assist with change order documentation, pricing support, and approval workflows
  • Coordinate regularly between the branch administrative team, field employees, sales team, estimating team, and branch management
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to support project execution
  • Ensure a high level of customer service and quality throughout the project lifecycle
