A Landscape Technician maintains and enhances outdoor spaces by performing tasks like mowing, planting, pruning, and fertilizing, while also potentially installing hardscapes (walkways, walls) and irrigation, operating various power equipment, identifying plant issues, and adhering to design plans for residential, commercial, or public properties. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance: Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, watering, fertilizing, and raking. Horticulture: Planting, transplanting, pruning trees, shrubs, and flowers; identifying and treating pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. Installation: Installing new plants, soil preparation, constructing walkways, walls, and potentially sprinkler systems. Equipment Operation: Safely operating mowers, trimmers, tillers, spreaders, and other hand/power tools; potentially large machinery like tractors or skid steers. Design & Planning: Following or assisting with landscape designs, preparing site plans, and managing project schedules and budgets. Hardscapes: Building patios, retaining walls, and other structures. Winter Tasks: Snow removal, ice control, and holiday lighting installation. Record Keeping: Maintaining logs, inventories, and maintenance schedules .
