About The Position

The Landscape Crew Member is responsible for working to transform yards and gardens by following the direction of our skilled foremen.

Requirements

• One (1) year of prior landscape or outdoor experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Valid Drivers License required.
• Must display good communication, organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to demonstrate artistic attention to detail in all phases of landscaping.
• Must be friendly, possess a team mentality, and the ability to build rapport.
• Must have the ability to perform physical labor, accept and adapt to change, be able to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
• Must be able and willing to work overtime. Additional hours may be needed in peak seasons.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to utilize required safety equipment when needed.
• Requires constant (67-100%) standing, walking and lifting of plants and nursery products of up to 75 lbs.
• Requires frequent (34-66%) reaching, kneeling, stooping, and climbing while working.
• Requires the ability to push and pull wheeled carts with nursery products.
• This position requires the ability to operate basic tools along with excellent manual dexterity and visual skills.
• Must be able to work in and around high UV light, wet or humid conditions, fumes, heat, cold, chemicals, and high levels of noise.
• Requires the ability to communicate clearly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating bobcats, sod cutters, or other relevant heavy machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with landscape foreman to accurately interpret and follow detailed instructions from designers and homeowners.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to landscape customers.
• Train on best practices of landscape installation to meet Sunnyside Gardens standards.
• Display dependability, safe work practices, and a strong work ethic.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform inventory and clean/service tools and equipment as needed.
