About The Position

This position is a Budgeted/SGR28. Position is located at the Arkansas Health Center in Benton, AR, which is a long-term nursing home facility for residents with behavioral issues. The position will provide maintenance of the Arkansas Health Center grounds, maintain the parking lots and sidewalks, which includes mowing, weed-eating and maintaining the necessary equipment. Develop and implement comprehensive landscape maintenance and enhancement plans. Schedule and supervise routine maintenance tasks as well as special project initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for tasks such as planting, irrigation, pest control, and installation of landscape features. Collaborate with landscape architects, designers, and horticultural experts to implement sustainable and aesthetically pleasing designs. Assist in the selection of appropriate plants, materials, and design features that satisfy environmental guidelines and project goals. Visit project sites regularly to assess the health and appearance of landscaped areas, evaluate soil and irrigation systems, and implement corrective measures as needed. Document project progress, maintenance activities, and any issues that arise, ensuring accuracy and transparency in the record-keeping process. Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards. Communicate with government officials, community groups, and internal personnel to align landscape projects with broader environmental and civic objectives. This role involves coordinating between design teams, maintenance crews, vendors, and a variety of assorted personnel to ensure that landscape projects—from routine upkeep to special installations—are executed efficiently and in line with technical, aesthetic, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, soil management practices, and sustainable landscaping techniques.
  • A willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is essential.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • May be required to lift at least 50 pounds.
