Landscaping Services, Inc. (LSI) Construction services is seeking team-oriented, motivated, and dependable employees who are looking to grow their career in the landscaping construction industry! LSI is a national award-winning, second-generation family-owned and operated grounds management firm headquartered in Nashville, TN since 1988. We offer Full Time, Year-Round employment! Do you enjoy working outside in a family-oriented environment? Do you enjoy having weekends off? The typical schedule is Monday to Friday from 7AM-4PM! with optional overtime. We are seeking a Landscape Supervisor to join our construction services team! Supervisor – Responsible for driving to jobs with or without crews or crew members and leading the landscaping operations for one or multiple jobs. Supervisor Core Competencies: Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. General business skills, including estimating, forecasting and cost management. Knowledge of the construction and landscape/horticultural industry. Ability to interpret construction and landscape drawings. Must be able to train others on how to effectively operate equipment and how to install plants and irrigation systems properly. Experience managing landscape or construction crews. Supervisor responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: Leading all landscape construction activities of the crew while on the job site or in transit to the job site. Ensuring that all crew members have the required safety PPE. Ensuring crews have the training and tools needed to complete the job and are operating safely at all times. Ensuring team members clock in and out of the job and tickets each day. Completing a pre-trip vehicle inspection report weekly before dispatch at the beginning of the week. Coordinating with managers, superintendents, customers, and employees as needed. Using landscaping tools, machinery and operating heavy equipment as needed. Safely driving crews to and from jobs, adhering to Company’s safety policy and ensuring that the public will be safe while in contact with crews. Installing plants, irrigation, hardscapes, and all materials per the job specifications. Cleaning up areas well after the work is completed. Picking up trash on properties. Provide effective training to crew leaders and crew members. Picking up plant material from vendors and delivering it to job sites. Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades. Attend GC/sub meetings on a weekly or biweekly basis as needed.

Requirements

  • Must live by the LSI core values.
  • Must be constantly vigilant and alert to the safety of crew, customers and the public.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (with a clean record) and be able to safely operate and drive a vehicle (over 21 years of age)
  • Must be able to safely operate construction/landscaping machinery.
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
  • Physically able to perform duties in all weather conditions
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to think and work with little supervision.
  • Must be drug free and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be proficient in English
  • Must be able to walk several miles per day and be able to traverse uneven, obstacle-laden terrain.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (often later), including occasional weekends
