About The Position

To support the operations of the plant so that they can optimize the use of all resources in meeting and/or exceeding established plant goals and client/customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED preferred. In lieu of education, extensive knowledge of all processes associated within the scope of the respective team may be considered.
  • Manufacturing/work experience and willingness to learn to operate required position in the team assigned.
  • Track record of successful team support, meeting work performance expectations and commitment toward continuous improvement.
  • Experience performing duties in a team environment committed to positive performance and SQDC goal achievement.
  • Demonstrated behavior that supports the company’s core values and CITE principles.
  • Has excellent communication skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate behavior that aligns with plant expectations and CITE principles.
  • Successfully complete all training required for operation of assigned area.
  • Acquire and maintain an active AWC forklift license. Previous forklift experience a plus.
  • Operate the forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Computer literate to include Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite of products in addition to software required of each trained role.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members in assigned department (lamination/warehouse team lead and utility tech, receiving forklift operator, and lamination line operator).
  • Read and process scheduling paperwork as needed.
  • Sort and identify wood parts by size and style of parts finish.
  • Inspect and verify material loads prior to loading at lamination line infeed or unloading from lamination line outfeed.
  • Perform quality checks and input data into Infinity software.
  • Accurately report material transactions, including scrap/salvage.
  • Ensure that all paperwork, documentation, reports and data entry are completed daily for assigned area.
  • Break down incoming bunks of raw material and hand strap bunks of finished material for transport and warehouse storage.
  • Create and print tickets for finished material.
  • Maintain warehouse integrity via transactional quality and correct placement and removal of material in the warehouse.
  • Troubleshoot and accurately report machine issues to maintenance and/or other support groups.
  • Complete PM’s for all equipment, tools and support equipment within assigned area.
  • Perform daily and periodic maintenance checks on the forklift and support the maintenance team during major repairs or scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Responsible for keeping area to a standard that prepares it for next shift operations.
  • Maintain daily 5S/clean-up expectations for assigned area.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Participate on Kaizen, TPM and cross-functional team events as requested.
  • Cross train in other areas as requested.
  • Assist in all areas of departments as needed.
  • Train new or back-up operators using certified peer trainer tools and techniques.
  • Encourage team members and promote a positive attitude.
  • Available to work assigned schedule and shift hours as necessary to meet client/customer requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by plant management.
