SUMMARY The LADC/SUD Assessor is responsible for conducting Rule 25 and/or Comprehensive Assessments for the purposes of determining level of care and needed SUD treatment services. Flexibility, effective time management, sound organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are a must. S/he must be able to navigate an assessment with a positive attitude, professionalism, and utilization of therapeutic intervention and skills. Also, have flexibility to complete assessments in-person, remotely and in jail or corrections settings. Must be able to perform duties involving light lifting and possess an ability to sit for long periods of time. This position is classified as a category 3 driving position. Pay range is $65,000-$80,000 per year This role is 100% on-site Join a team whose innovative work addresses the complex and intersecting challenges of addiction, homelessness, disability, poverty, and criminal justice involvement. RS EDEN promotes recovery and resilience in our clients as they build new beginnings through these person-centered programs, including residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment for men, women, and women with children; reentry halfway houses and community supervision for men and women; and supportive housing and housing stability services programs. RS EDEN requires all new hire candidates for this position to successfully undergo and pass a criminal history background check, and driver record screen (DMV check).

Requirements

  • Current Minnesota LADC or ADC-T license
  • Minimum Associate degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling or related field required
  • 1-2 years of experience or equivalent training in Rule 25 and/or Comprehensive Assessments
  • 6-month requirement between any treatment services and employment
  • Current Mantoux test. (Annual requirement thereafter)
  • One year off correctional supervision
  • Two years free of any problems associated with substance use.
  • Employees directly responsible for persons being served by the program are prohibited from abusing prescription medication or being in any manner under the influence of a chemical that impairs the individual’s ability to provide services or care
  • Positive driving record (periodic review of driving record required)
  • Valid state driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling or related field
  • CPR/First Aid training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Familiarity with Procentive or other ERH systems
  • Familiarity in Hennepin County funding and placement for individuals
  • Ability to structure time well and develop priorities
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to success

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with prospective clients and referents in a professional and timely manner
  • Set and manage schedule for assessments
  • Conduct assessments in a variety of settings including in office, remote, or institutional settings
  • Utilize ASAM criteria to determine appropriate level of care and SUD recommendations
  • Coordinate referrals with clients and other interested parties for SUD service placement
  • Complete county/funder forms and agreements to secure authorization for SUD services
  • Have working knowledge of other SUD programs, referral agencies, and client resources
  • Participate in staff meetings and training as required or directed
  • Understand and follow vulnerable adult and child policy and reporting procedures
  • Understand and follow incident/accident reporting policies, severe weather and emergency procedures
  • Attend quarterly Supervised Living Facilities (SLF) training and other training events as required
  • Respond to client emergency medical and mental health needs when required
  • Collect urinalysis samples and perform breath analysis testing to clients, if needed
  • Safeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA an 42CFR notification statement and standards
  • Participate in speaking engagements or workshop presentations, as requested.
  • Perform public relations/marketing duties for programs
  • If schedule allows and there is a need, assist clinical team in group facilitation coverage
  • Maintain favorable driving record
