Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Requirements

  • Completion of Associate Degree, Bachelors of Science, or Masters of Science in Nursing
  • Current Texas RN License
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • IBCLC (International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants)

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years’ experience in Maternal Child Nursing

Responsibilities

  • The Lactation Consultant is responsible for coordinating patient care and educational activities related to lactation for staff and breastfeeding mothers in inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • The individual is a professional caregiver who uses the nursing process to provide overall coordination, planning, and management of lactation services to staff/physicians.
