About The Position

Share your knowledge and expertise to support the practice of breastfeeding. As a Lactation Consultant you will be educating and supporting new moms while they are an inpatient and will continue the support by calling patients within a month of discharge to ensure all of the patient’s needs have been met. You will serve as an Educator/Consultant to nurses and other healthcare professionals within the Women’s and Children service line when additional interventions are identified for the patient. Position: Lactation Consultant Shift: 20 hours per week, evening shift and every other Saturday day shift. Holidays rotational based on need.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience providing healthcare and /or education in Women’s Health preferred.
- Knowledge of fetal, newborn, and maternal anatomy/physiology.
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline preferred.
- Current RN License preferred OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.
- Certification with the International Board Lactation Consultants Examiners required.
