About The Position

The LabVIEW Software Engineer will support the space program located in Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering.
  • Must have 2+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Requires space industry or DoD work experience.
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW for system control, system test, data storage and analysis.
  • Experience with CompactRIO RT/FPGA platform.
  • Experience with LabVIEW object Oriented Programming (LVOOP).
  • Experience with Git for source code control.
  • Experience with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
  • Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
  • Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
  • All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check and some positions require clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.
  • All Bastion employees must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NASA/JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.
  • Prior experience with spaceflight system development.
  • Experience with system interface requirements.
  • Experience with common communication protocols (RS232, RS422/485, 1553, USB).
  • Knowledge of web application frameworks such as ASP.NET.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement software for design, development, test, and certification of flight hardware.
  • Gather and analyze requirements.
  • Design and develop data acquisition systems for test rigs.
  • Test and debug software issues.
  • Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities.
  • Support test setup and execution.
  • Develop testing and operations documentation.
  • Coordinate software development with other disciplines.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary technical reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
