About The Position

Under general supervision, the Laborer II performs a variety of duties operating tools and equipment in order to assist with activities of the Public Works Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists with completing concrete repair, tree trimming, asphalt repair, fencing, striping/painting of the street, replacing/installing street signs, and traffic light repair.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid GA Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
• Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment
• Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions
• Ability to follow proper safety precautions
• Ability to navigate different routes throughout the city
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the public
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
