About The Position

The Department of Conservation and Recreation is seeking laborers to support seasonal high-profile events scheduled at our parks this summer. This position is central to delivering exceptional visitor experiences during major statewide and international events, including Tall Ships 2026, Massachusetts 250 (MA250) commemorations, FIFA World Cup Watch Parties, and other large-scale public gatherings. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) aims to protect, preserve, and enhance Massachusetts’ environmental resources and create a clean energy future for all residents. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) oversees nearly half a million acres of land, focusing on nurturing the vital connection between people and the environment by protecting, promoting, and enhancing our common wealth of natural, cultural, and recreational resources for the well-being of all. DCR infrastructure connects people to and through beautiful landscapes and accessible recreational facilities, strengthening communities and driving the economy. This job opening is for multiple positions for the 2026 Seasonal Laborer I - South Region.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with a variety of duties in connection with conservation and maintenance work including cleaning restrooms and other site buildings, cutting grass, raking leaves, watering, rubbish removal, beautification of parks, campgrounds, and reservations, beaches and facilities.
  • May be expected to use a variety of hand tools.
  • May operate motor vehicles and light trucks including loading and unloading of supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Greet and assist park visitors and provide information about the facility.
  • Based on assignment, collect fees and may be required to possess a current and valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
