About The Position

The Laboratory Technician I supports Applied Medical’s Biological Sciences operations by performing essential laboratory activities that enable testing, experimentation, and data generation in a regulated environment. This role contributes to product quality and compliance by maintaining laboratory readiness, executing established laboratory procedures, and supporting cross functional scientific teams. The Laboratory Technician I plays a critical part in ensuring accurate data collection, safe laboratory operations, and consistent support for biological testing and development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related life sciences field with no prior professional laboratory experience, or one or more years of professional laboratory experience without a bachelor’s degree
  • Foundational knowledge of laboratory techniques and standard laboratory practices
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot common laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office applications for data entry and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record and organize laboratory data
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety standards, chemical handling, and safety documentation
  • Experience supporting quality, testing, or product related laboratory activities

Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks associated with lab function including but not limited to maintenance and monitoring of equipment.
  • Execute laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols, work instructions, and quality guidelines.
  • Record, organize, and maintain accurate laboratory data, test results, and documentation in both written and electronic systems.
  • Prepare laboratory media, materials, and supplies to support biological testing activities.
  • Perform tasks in support of laboratory inventory and maintenance.
  • Ensure laboratory spaces remain clean, functional, and compliant with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with team members by sharing knowledge and assisting with training in laboratory processes and standard job functions.
