About The Position

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the daily operations and activities within the CULTA Processing Laboratory, including but not limited to distillation support, decarboxylation, winterization, chromatography, sample preparation, in-process testing, equipment cleaning and maintenance, and accurate documentation. This role supports the production of high-quality cannabis products in accordance with Maryland laws and regulations, as well as standards and standard operating procedures established by CULTA. The Laboratory Technician must be comfortable identifying and communicating known issues or deviations to the Laboratory Manager in a timely manner. The individual must be able to strictly follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and compliance requirements within the facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with Office 365 and ability to learn and apply new software programs.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Must be able to work onsite
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Must be 21+ of age
  • Must be able to pass all background checks and drug screenings as required by the state.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior distillation or laboratory experience.
  • Thorough understanding of state and local medical cannabis laws and ability to comprehend complex legislation and apply implications.
  • Familiar with distillation methods preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tend to Short Path and various other laboratory instruments according to SOPs.
  • Perform all necessary equipment maintenance and safety checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure that the production space is organized, clean, and sanitary throughout daily operations.
  • Log and track all pertinent information for each post processing responsibility. Must be able to follow verbal and written direction.
  • Assists in production of inhalable vape products.
  • Exercise extreme caution and attention to detail around the scientific glassware to prevent breakage.
  • Understand and meet daily goals.
  • Assists Distillation Supervisor with production scheduling.
  • Ensure that each run is completed for the day to keep the production schedule flowing.
  • Participates in month end inventory counts.
  • Use inventory tracking software to be able to create and modify tags for a variety of products and purposes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
