External applicants must be eligible to work in the US. Your Role: Laboratory Technician I performs entry level manufacturing functions requiring basic-level production lab skills. Essential Job Functions Production functions may include, but are not limited to, the tasks below. Specific functions vary for each department. Laboratory Technician I should be able to gain competency in 3 processes within 6 months. Create production batches and determine routes based on specifications. Synthesize oligonucleotides using various synthesizer platforms, including modification injections and conjugations as needed. Cleavage and deprotection in various conditions depending on product type. Purification using various methods and types of equipment. Submit purified material/fractions for QC. Select material for combine or shipment. Setup work – prepare reagents and stock raw materials/supplies. Label and cap product containers. Perform custom format or kitting if needed. Quantification and/or concentration normalization. Perform liquid handling using both manual techniques as well as automated platforms to do sampling, product transfer, dilution, aliquoting. Understand and properly use LIMS for each manufacturing step. Safety and Quality Responsibilities Safety – Wear appropriate PPE. Inform supervisor of potential safety hazards. Properly dispose of waste and hazardous materials. Follow all safety guidelines documented in associated SOP. Be alert and prepared for duties. Quality – Accurately follow SOP’s. Inspect products for quality and adherence to customer specifications. Perform routine accuracy checks and cleaning/sanitizing on equipment to ensure quality production. Documentation – Complete quality assurance records. Communication Able to have clear and direct communication with leadership and peers both within own department and other departments. Provide thorough updates and details to set up the next shift for success. Communicate issues in a timely manner. Able to articulate and explain production needs to support departments such as Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, etc. Physical Attributes: Reaching: extending arm(s) to touch or grasp something. Auditory: perceiving sounds at typical range, understand the speech of another person Speaking: Speak clearly so listeners can understand Sitting (constant): be in a position in which one’s weight is supported by the buttocks and one’s back is upright. Standing (constant): maintain an upright position, supported by one’s feet Lifting: pick up objects and move to a different position. Bending: incline body downward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending legs Pushing/Pulling: exert force on something to move it away from or toward oneself Vision: Near and far acuity, depth perception, ability to identify/distinguish colors Strength: Exert up to 30 pounds Climbing: Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand(s).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years' laboratory experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree with 6+ months of laboratory experience
