Requirements

  • 1-3 years of working experience in a lab setting or similar.
  • High school diploma required, with preference given to candidates who hold college diplomas in science, technology, engineering, or maintenance-related fields.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Use of mechanical tools. Skilled in use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work with resins, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other materials.
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of basic mathematical principles.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a proactive, detail-oriented approach, supported by strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and direction from supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • General familiarity with multiple trades is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and testing of a range of composite samples, including fiber-reinforced polymer materials, across multiple test methods.
  • Prepare and test resin formulations in accordance with established guidelines, working independently or in collaboration with engineering and technical staff.
  • Operate moving equipment such as forklifts, when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and support safe work practices.
  • Equipment Maintenance and routine checks to ensure reliability.
  • Read and follow work instructions and safety data sheets (SDS) related to sample preparation, formulating resins and sample testing.
  • Utilize various computer systems to perform work and assist in the preparation of test reports.
  • Ensure experiments are executed safely while working alongside engineers and scientists.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
